Guns, Germs and Steel - This is very interesting if you like history. Elizabeth and Mary - I haven't read it. Diary of Anne Frank - This is also interesting if you like history and not very long.
Evening in the Palace of Reason - Haven't read it Thunder at Twilight - Haven't read it Victoria's Daughters - Haven't read it The Feud... - Haven't read it Stalingrad: The Fateful Siege - Haven't read it Candide - There are boring parts, but I liked it overall. The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Very long and has some very dry parts, but overall, the story is fairly thought provoking. The Guns of August - Haven't read it Three Men in a Boat - Haven't read it Communist Manifesto - Very interesting, and also fairly short.
If you want something you can get through fast, go for the "Diary of Anne Frank." If it bores you to death, you can always watch one of the movie versions and just fake that you've read it. There's a TV version available on Netflix.
Look at the bright side, reading a book for school isn't nearly as boring as being locked up in an attic, hiding from the Nazis. If you actually want to learn something, go for "Guns, Germs and Steel" or "The Guns of August.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
