There is simple no such thing as a "typical" fiction book. Some are 150 pages, some are 300, some are 1000. There's also no standard definition for what constitutes a "novel," though most publishing houses and awards tend to say that the work must be 40,000 or more words (though some say 30,000, others say 50 or 60 thousand).
If you want to write, write the length the story needs to be. No more, no less. Then you might have a novel, you might have a novella, you might have a novelette, or you might have a short story.
None is better or worse than the others so long as the length truly serves the story. There are few things worse than a 50 page story crammed into 250 pages (or vice versa). Don't worry about "typical" and "average."
Just write the story to the length the story needs to be.
This is hard to say considering there are thousands of fiction books that range anywhere from 30,000 words to 300,000 words. The average 250-page novel would probably have around 50,000 to 70,000. But let it be noted that YOU are the creator of your novel, therefore how ever many words your imagination wants to bring about is just fine.
Hope this helped (.
When I finished writing my first chapter, I kept editing and looking for grammar mistakes. Sometimes, I deleted it and wrote it again. I've realized I've never got far with my story because I kept editing and re-writing only on the first chapter.
So just leave it. Just continue on with Chapter 2 no matter how many grammatical mistakes you spot, you can edit it later once you've finished your whole story.
I'd just worry about it later and just keep writing. If you look back at all of the little mistakes, it can be discouraging and the last thing you want to do is be discouraged and quit writing after the first chapter. Also it's a little bit a waste of time to edit so early.
Just keep writing!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
