In the U.K, can people take money out of your current account using only your account number and sort code?

If they wanted I think they could, but if you are only talking about a few pounds and not thousands , you have no need to worry. It wouldn`t be that easy for them , court orders etc, you are ok.

YES they have Access to the bank accounts , so do the council, that's how they check for fraud. As long as you have under £3000 you will be eligible then every £150 after that a £1 a week gets deducted.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
