In your opinion what is the best Frank Lloyd Wright home that is currently on the market?

You will find a list of Wright homes for sale at the following website: savewright.org/index.php?page=33 It is sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy organization. If you are considering owning one of these incredible works of art, this will be a valuable resource. I think about owning a Wright home as my primary residence just about every time I think about owning a home.

I would be happy with any one, although I personally like the woods better than the desert, but all are exquisite. I would not consider a Wright home an investment but rather a luxury. If anything, it will be a money pit because (if you care about preserving the Wright-ness of the home) there will be additional costs for maintenance and or remodeling. In some areas you will run into historical registry issues which could make even the simplest repair much more time intensive and costly.

Today my favorite house for sale is the Don M. Stromquist Residence in Utah. savewright.org/index.php?page=33&id=78 But my all time favorite is pictured below.

Special thanks to Nancy Kelly for providing that link to Frank Lloyd Wright homes for sale. It was so much fun shopping through these homes. It was really hard to choose a home that quantifies as the "best," with best being the subjective term that it is, but I really like the Don E.

And Virginia Lovness Estate in Stillwater, Minnesota. Not only does the property itself have twenty acres of wooded, lake-front terrain, but there is also an accompanying cottage next to the home as well in the same kind of design. The 1,800 square foot home features a children's wing, a master suite, and an upstairs living room that is overlooking the lake.

I like the use of darker woods for the floors, ceiling, and trim, which are all hardwoods from tress native to the area. The stone also comes from local sources, and I tend to favor the stone look over some of Wright's brick home designs. I have never really thought of purchasing a Frank Lloyd Wright home before, but there is a home near me that is similar in nature that is actually the work of Bruce Goff, a protege of Wright's.It recently sold, but was open for a few years to tours.

It was the home of the founders of Frankoma Pottery, and incorporated bricks that were painted and fired in the same colors as some Frankoma pottery. The house also had movable walls and partitions, as well as a number of secret rooms. I have to admit, I like Frankoma pottery, and the idea of secret rooms is appealing, but this home was a little too flamboyant even for me.

If I were to buy a Frank Lloyd Wright home, it would be purely to use as a personal residence. To me, it would be too expensive to use as a vacation home and not a worthy investment. The most affordable Frank Lloyd Wright home currently on the market is the Meier Residence in Monona, Iowa.

Although it is nothing extravagant, it is currently being offered for $169K, which is still a considerable bargain for anything Frank Lloyd Wright. There is another Frank Lloyd Wright home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi that has considerable damage from Hurricane Katrina that has an asking price of much more than this. The home has been sitting vacant for several years now.

Another one that caught my eye was the Don Stromquist home in Utah, and I think Nancy and I can agree on this one. This house has 3,000 square feet, many more contemporary appliances and amenities, several annexes, and an office/laboratory. The home sits on ten acres.

I don't know what I would do with a lab in my home, but I am sure that I could come up with something, and the interior of the home looks spectacular. I like the open spaces, clean design, and symmetry that Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture offers, and there are few more recent comparisons, in my opinion.

The Pottery House in Santa Fe NM is also on the market. It sits on 9 acres close to the Plaza and Ski Basin. It was designed but not built by FLW.It is Talisen approved.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
