Like rhine44 said or they need to incorporate a window or section of the main page dedicated to forum viewing and participation since it seems they're intent on keeping the current Askville format.
True. Thanks for your input. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
I see you too and it IS dumb that we can't talk directly in this thread like you mentioned! .
That goes without saying, but Amazon seems to love this new format, and think of all the free labour they are getting from using us as Amazon costumer service. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .

Well I will give you my opinion. Just remember I said this is MY OPINION ONLY. On the rare times I look at the Forums it just seems to me like a small little group of people who have their own thing going.
Not welcoming unless you are part of the joke or in the loop. I also noticed that certain people are talked about and it does not seem right. I think the same rules should apply on the Forums, that members can not just sit around and knock certain people's actions around for discussion.
Before anyone jumps, I will let you know that I am not talking about myself. It seems to be other members that get ripped and I will not mention names. For the life of me I do not understand how some members seem to be "free game" and anything can be said about them but God forbid something is said against others here.It seems to me that the Forum discussions that get the most activity are the dull "singing to the chior" ones and the interesting forum discussion no one is very interested in commenting on.
Anyway that's my opinion.
Oops, all the discussion about how it is difficult to find the Forums I think are unfounded. Members know where the forums are, they just don't feel like going there. As an example, a long time member and good friend of mine Gandg has been gone ever since askville changed the format.
Just the other day he decided to drop by and say hello. He had no problem finding the forum and asking a question. He has been gone for quite a while now.
Anyways thanks for your reply. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
Many of these drive by newbies asking customer service questions are not going to hang around here for any length of time. The forums are the last thing they would be interested in anyway. Members who have been here for a while, have friendships and want to discuss topics with each would be the one's to go to a Forum.
Sometimes I wonder if people really are serious when asking the question. You give the right information and there is no feedback, other times you are bashed for giving the right information if in the process you have corrected someone. After all is said and done you suddenly realize that no one is following the question anymore and even the original poster who asked the question has trotted away never to come back to see who has responded.
This scenario is something that I see more and more here, as a result many of the good folks who genuinely contributed do not wish to do so anymore and either they are keeping a low profile or have drifted away from the site itself. In my humble opinion there is a vacuum now created and the quality has gone down. It does not matter at all to me as I come here when I feel like and participate when I feel like, no less no more.

Well said. Thanks for your reply. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
In order for the forums to improve, there are many things that need to be corrected, however, I do not think our suggestions are important, they will run the site with their own agenda, whatever that maybe, if want to play by their rules stick around if not leave and stop grumbling about it.
Oh I will play by the rules, but theres no way I'm ever going to stop BITCHING about it until they make a change for the real better. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
Some people don't even know they are there.
Makes people feel like it is a trap door to the boiler room. Thanks for rplying Grandmabx. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
A discussion board associated with more interesting questions would help immensely.
Uh VERY. Thanks for your answer Max. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
Ha,ha,I meant them to change or add something ,not us. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
A link in each question to a forum discussion on that question.
Now thats a pretty good idea, seeing that it makes sense you know they will never go for it. Thanks for your input. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
To put the forums where they can be more visible. I completely forget about them being that they are hiding all the way at the bottom of the page.
That's what I have been saying, feels like the door to the boiler room. Squeeky-changes-suck 11 months ago .
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
