To run at two ohms with one type r on a mrp m500, you would need to get a dual 4 ohm sub and wire the coils in parallel. For one sub, a dual 2 ohm can be run at either 1 or 4 ohms and a dual 4 ohm can run at 2 or 8 ohms. You see, you will always change the impedance, depending on how the coils are wired.

The impedance doesn't really change the parameters of the sub a whole lot. It really just changes the wiring options for the sub. So, there is not really a better impedance in general.
