Is air traffic controller a good profession?

Following an aircraft does not include landing behind it, unless you've also received landing clearance. That's what the controller objected to. However, I'm surprised that you didn't get clearance.

Unless you were way behind the other aircraft, you're going to be in a position to land fairly quickly after that other aircraft, so you are going to need a clearance quite soon. If you're too close to the other aircraft to land after it, then the controller should separate you more; otherwise the controller should clear you to land as soon as the other aircraft has vacated the runway. Anyway, you need a clearance to land.

If you don't get one, you have to go around again in the pattern (and you need to ask the controller exactly what's going on, if he has you coming in on final but doesn't clear you to land).

Wow I am little surprise at RickH saying most of us (pilots) have at one point landed without clearance and that it is not that bad. Oh it's pretty bad... It's like saying oh so you ran a red light "it is not that bad." Now if the controller really did say follow the RC-12 in.... that's just sloppy.

I can see your confusion. However you do NEED to hear cleared to land or cleared for the option or cleared for... You NEED to be cleared, and if you ever doubt if you are cleared; ask them if you are cleared.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
