All one has to do is follow the money. The gun manufacturers, NRA and enough politicians (mostly GOP) sleep in a bed together w/ enough power to prevent moving forward w/ gun safety measures. If the Sandy Hook massacre wasn't enough to motivate gun safety measures, despite the overwhelming consensus for action, nothing at this time is.
"90 percent of Americans want expanded background checks on guns. Why isn’t this a political slam dunk?" http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-... If universal background checks aren't federal law, the purpose is defeated."
I don't know about 100 yrs. But I wouldn't expect anything soon. There's too much resistance f/ the right wing gun nuts.
They are content to remain static. Apparently, according to them, the victims of massacre are collateral damage while they refuse to compromise w/ the addition of gun safety measures. Every time the lefties bring up discussing gun safety measures, the gun nut righties run out and buy more guns because they are fearful of the new regulations.
The NRA/gun manufacturers LOVE that.
America is destroying itself from within. I'd be surprised if there IS an America in 100 years.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
