Before the change I only had 7-8 articles with them and was making $20-$30 a month but they even wanted me to do rewrite on those articles that had been out for years. Then I could never get any new articles published and I would look at some of the trash that they let thru so I dropped them.
I personally have no interest in writing for Demand Studios, largely because of the inconsistency of the editors over there (as seems to be the case with many of these content mills). I realize they pay better than many others, but virtually everyone I know who consistently writes for DMS is incessantly venting about what a pain in the ass they are to work with.
Personally, I prefer to work through Elance, where I find clients have consistent and clear expectations (there are exceptions, of course). It also doesn't hurt that I have some additional control over the amount I get paid, though the downside is the proposal writing, which can delay actually getting to work.
They're an online publishing company. You may know them better as eHow. Many writers refer to them as DMS.
They also include Livingstrong and often get mixed reviews from writers. Basically, they post hundreds of titles and writers can choose which ones to accept. Some are pretty obscure and way out there, but it's possible to find average topics to write about.
I have never heard of Demand Media Studios. What kind of writing/pubishing do they do?
I hadn't heard of this company before a few days ago while I was looking for a site to start writing for. All I read about them were horror stories and complaints.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
