Because despite what Fox keeps telling us, most Americans who support the Republican party are moderate. They may believe in conservative principles, but the majority certainly do not subscribe to the extremist points of view that seem to be getting the most publicity. The farther to the right those candidates lurch in order to please the tea party, the more they alienate the core moderate Republican voters (and Independent/Democrat moderates) they will need to win the general election.
The more that the extremist tea party holds power in the Republican party, the less likely it is that their preferred candidate will win.
I understand. I am a member of Republicans for Obama. I voted for him in 2008 because he is calm and rational.
I don't agree with everything he says, mimd you, I just trust his overall judgment more than I do that of Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann (both of whom are dominionists). I could live with Jon Huntsmen as president, but Perry is scary.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
