I'm as conservative as they come. I make Ronald Reagan look like a New Deal-er. But like you, when Glen Beck talks about ANYTHING, my skin crawls.
I just can't stand the guy, don't like his emotional, self-righteous tone, and his effort to whip up anger and fear. People like Beck (from BOTH sides of the political spectrum) are part of the problem in the United States, and they keep us from having unity, politically.
I read that Mormons spent a huge amount of money to change the views people had of them from 'Saints' to Christians. They didn't used to align themselves but now they paid this outfit a lot of money to present them as Christians. Isn't the whole thing 'off'?
I think that's great that you have this discernment. So many don't. I went to a church for a while that did help me and I certainly paid them well, so I feel OK about eventually leaving them, but when they preached, I felt sick, so I would leave.
This happened again and again. Other places/times/preaching this never happened. I trust that to tell me something is wrong.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
