I happened to be searching youtube for some information on another writing research project and stumbled across a documentary video called "The Dying Rooms.
youtube.com/watch?v=AE-U_Pq80OA (a 4 Part Series) about orphanages in China where baby girls were taken when their family had abandoned them. It was one of the most "eye opening films" that I've ever seen. It was truly horrifying.
The only films that have depressed me more, were animal slaughter house videos put out by PETA.
It was a very tough film to watch. They take an undercover camera behind the doors of the orphanage and pose as a group looking to adopt, then start firing away at all of the scenes that they encountered... children strapped for the full day to a row of potty seats, a baby left in a "dying room" to starve to death.... I'm telling you-- this film captured things that were truly graphic and totally inhumane.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
