Global warming is real. The question is the extent to which it is man-made (anthropomorphic global warming AGW) or natural. Link 1 below shows how CO2 levels have changed since 650,000 years ago.
These graphs are not disputed by "climate change sceptics": what the sceptics don't believe is that the effects are man-made, and that CO2 is not the main driver for overall temperature increases. The graph shows clearly that there are variations in CO2 levels during the ice age(s). But look at the scale of the graph - there is NO comparison now between the CO2 levels of today and those of previous "cold" or "warm" periods.(375 ppm now).
There are many references to "vested interests" in green technology. So the oil companies don't have vested interests? Timber companies?
These industries (and I am a chemical engineer! ) have much more vested interest than climatologists. In fact, those who think there is a "conspiracy" to promote AGW theories should know how science academia works - why is no serious researcher saying "the king has no clothes"?
The main reason for scepticism by the public on AGW, in my opinion, is that politicians are using it as an excuse to tax the life out of us.
No, global warming is not a hoax. Every major scientific agency or institution that studies climate, oceans or the atmosphere i. E.
National Academy of Sciences (NAS) , National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) , NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) , Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), The Royal Society of the UK (RS), Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS), and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has the same observation that climate around the world is warming rapidly. They attributed this to greenhouse gas emissions which is due to human activity.
Yes, global warming is a hoax.. if you have financial interests that would be negatively effected by regulations on your business in relation to global warming. ~No, global warming is not a hoax if you have no financial interest in any industries negatively effected by additional regulations in relation to global warming or have financial interests in green technologies. Many scientists had seemingly proven the existence of global warming and its root being the wastefulness and pollutions of big business and the disregard of humankind to the dangers of greenhouse gasses.
These conclusions have come into question recently as the emails of some top climatologists were leaked via a server hack in England showing that many of the so called facts of global warming were "cleaned up" to maintain the public opinion of global warming. Science stabbed itself in the foot by not being completely transparent it its findings by releasing the whole unfiltered truth as public opinion of information that has been censored by those wishing to spin public opinion in one way or another is tainted with suspicion and doubt. The big picture is..if global warming is happening the way the world uses its resources has to change immediately and with this debate going on we are losing precious time and if global warming is not happening or is not the fault of humans then it would be the biggest and most expensive hoax of all time.
google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=global+war... Google Search of "Global Warming Hoax" google.com/#hl=en&q=global+warming+facts... Google Search of "Global Warming Facts" I am torn between the reported gloom and doom and the reported myths of global warming. There is not one source I trust in the area of global warming now. I would only trust my own eyes and if financially possible would like to go see for myself the examples of melting ice or disappearing glaciers. It seems possible but I have no unquestioned proof of either side telling the complete truth.
You have to define "global warming" because the definitions vary widely. Can you point to periods of time when the Earth has gotten warmer? Yes.
Can you point to periods of time when it's gotten colder? Yes. Can reasonable, educated people have differing *opinions* on what the future holds?Absolutely.
I think the question you're asking is, "Is the idea that global warming is a man-made disaster that must be averted at a high cost just a hoax to make some people rich at the expense of others? " My answer to this would be absolutely. There are politicians and dictators around the world who stand to gain a ton of money and power in the name of "stopping global warming," "global warming" being whatever they want it to be.
They're not interested in living in a healthy world. They know that if they slap an "environmentalist" label on their cause they can get a lot more people to buy into it. If you believe that the Earth will get warmer to the point where it causes a catastrophe, and you're willing to give up *your* money and freedom to stop it, then you had better be absolutely certain you're right.
I am just more skeptical than most and do not think the drastic actions proposed by politicians and special interest groups are warranted.
Put it this way, if you eliminate an animal or plant from the circle of life, you get serious problems because the Earth has evolved to be an equilibrium with the organisms that exist.. We already know this, so why do people not understand that removing every tree on the planet is not going to have a similar effect. If you fly over Australia, and I'm guessing every other country on the planet, all you see is flat paddocks where we've chopped down every tree and starts growing some low oxygen producing crop. The natural areas are only in patches around the country.
You cannot look at this and tell me it's not going to have some kind of effect on the environment. My opinion is, that it may not be causing global warming, it may be causing global cooling, but regardless of which one it's causing, it's very very BAD.
Considering that Oklahoma is having it's coldest winter in over a decade I'm interested to see what some of the answers will be. :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
