No, Global Warming is a Man Made Myth. (Pls. Don't get me wrong.
I am all for saving the earth's environment and reducing CO2 emissions) John Coleman, Founder of the Weather Channel spoke about it on an interview by William Jasper of the New American magazine. "I am only concerned about the hype of something that is a total myth. That concerns me a lot.
People are going hysterical about it. Its amazing to me how upset many people are, and how Billions of Dollars our governments are going to spend our tax dollars to combat something that isn't real at all in any sense and significance, and we have nothing to worry about it. Some of the excerpts from of Coleman's interview 1.
There are historical changes in the earth's weather patterns... little ice ages, solar cycles changes dramatically, cities, the flying of planes, the existence of billions of people on earth have all influence the climate of earth. 2. Ice caps are not going to melt, the oceans are not going to flood the coast, people are not going to die... we are not going to have global warming climate that would cut out the food supply 3.Re: AL Gore/ Inconvenient Truth... I'm very aware of the hype, the media is full of it everyday.
Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar and a Grammy. Apparently millions of dollars.Al Gore I believe is sincere in his beliefs but Oh So Misguided as well as the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) 3. There was no Universal Consensus re: Climate Change by the scientific community at IPCC in 2007.
Some of the scientist at the IPCC are political scientist who are there to push an agenda. John Coleman Article: The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam http://www.kusi.com/weather/colemanscorner/38574742.html ======== The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) a part of United Nations. Have gotten their data wrong and is widely disputed by many scientist.
IPCC wrong on logging threats to climate http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14466-ipcc-wrong-on-logging-threat-to-climate.html * What's Wrong with the IPCC http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/images/stories/papers/other/Labohm-What_is_wrong_with_the_IPCC.pdf * Why the IPCC models are wrong Roy Spencer explains his research into discovering that precipitation (rain) is the regulator of the earths temperature and this has not been factored into any IPCC models (youtube video).
Yes It is real. Skeptics will tell you that climate has changed in the past, which is true. However the particular changes we are going through now have been scientifically proven (over and over again) that it is because of Human activity on the planet.
Here are some of the highest sources you will find. This is from the National Climate Data Center in America. ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/globalwarming.html --Quote-- Human activity has been increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (mostly carbon dioxide from combustion of coal, oil, and gas; plus a few other trace gases). There is no scientific debate on this point.
Pre-industrial levels of carbon dioxide (prior to the start of the Industrial Revolution) were about 280 parts per million by volume (ppmv), and current levels are greater than 380 ppmv and increasing at a rate of 1.9 ppm yr-1 since 2000. The global concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere today far exceeds the natural range over the last 650,000 years of 180 to 300 ppmv. According to the IPCC Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES), by the end of the 21st century, we could expect to see carbon dioxide concentrations of anywhere from 490 to 1260 ppm (75-350% above the pre-industrial concentration).
--/quote-- This is from the EPA http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/fq/science.html --quote-- Since pre-industrial times, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) have climbed by over 36 percent, 148 percent, and 18 percent, respectively (see the Recent Atmospheric Change page on EPA’s Climate Change site for more details). Greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere have varied historically as a result of many natural processes (e.g. , volcanic activity, changes in temperature, etc). However, since the Industrial Revolution, humans have added a significant amount of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere primarily by burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests, and other activities.
Scientists have confirmed that the recent increase in atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations is primarily due to human activity. --/quote-- The debate should have been put to rest after the United Nations put together an International panel of the worlds top and most respected Climate scientists, who concluded, that yes Global Warming is real. http://www.ipcc.ch/about/index.htm Scientists have known this for a few decades, but politics continues to get in the way of doing anything about it.
Let one of my heroes explain to to you David Attenborough, a British naturalist who has done dozens of documentaries about the Earth, wasn't convinced until recently, when he was convinced he did a documentary about it and included that includes this important clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoLfPKp5uwI.
Global warming is real. The most obvious evidences to those of us who are not scientists are 1) the disappearing snow caps on the largest mountains around the world, 2) the break off of large chunks of ice shelf from the Antarctic, and 3) the opening of the Northwest Passage in the Arctic. As to what causes it.
Humankind certainly plays a part. It is simply not possible for humankind to increase from a few million primates with no technology to 6 billion technologically advanced primates and not be warming the earth. So what percentage of global warming is humankind responsible for?
This, I think, is what the real debate is all about. My answer? I've read a lot of stuff about it and I'm still not sure.
Can we stop global warming? Not unless we stop our population increases but we can certainly slow it down. Can we slow it soon enough that no bad things are going to happen to the earth? No.
Bad things are going to happen regardless, especially to those who live on low lying islands in the oceans, and along the coasts.
Yes ,Global warming is real ,....The causes of the recent warming are an active field of research. The scientific consensus is that the increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases due to human activity has caused most of the warming observed since the start of the industrial era, and the observed warming cannot be satisfactorily explained by natural causes alone. This attribution is clearest for the most recent 50 years, which is the period when most of the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations took place and for which the most complete measurements exist.
Global warming is one of the major threats faced by the environment. It is caused mainly by the human activities along with some natural gas emissions.
It's real :( Now we must do something about it!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
