Is having high morale in the workplace actually a bad thing?

I am currently in a situation that disputes the claim. My coworkers and I are mostly unhappy in our workplace, and most people start to not care one way or another. We just do our job to get by and we avoid additional work like plague.

Some just wait for few years so they can move to another place. Money is not the issue, it's the workplace atmosphere. There are a lot of demands, rebuke, and even punishments, but if we do good, we hardly get mentioned or rewarded. As teachers, we also become quicker to get angry with our students.

I say that if you make your employees who are mainly working in human service industry unhappy, they will treat your customers less kindly. That will certainly jeopardizes your business. When your employees are in good mood, they will serve the customers more cheerfully and with more positive attitude.

I can't see how low morale can help a business so I don't think that this claim is valid.

I don't know what makes high morale as a study but I find when you get a group of people that get along on a project it always goes smoother and quicker. People tend to look out for eachother when they like eachother and not worry about individual accomplishment for the Boss. They will not let the other part go through wrong and say that was his job.As a Boss I tend to make more than one person responsible for all parts of the project and make the project completion a group effort and reward it that way also.

I think high morale in the work place helps. If you are happy and in a good mood the work seems to go faster which in turn would make you feel even better. However, I think if everyone is constantly joking around then it could turn sour.

A manager or boss who is always humorous might not be taken seriously. Some good ways to boost morale might be...having a casual dress day or a money incentive such as giving your top employees a bonus. Also I imagine a lot of the morale of the employees might depend on the morale or attitude of the management.

:).

I think that high morale can only aid in the productivity in the workplace. Frankly I would rather deal with the ruckus of employees having a good time than the constant bickering of those that are unhappy.

Gh morale in your working place is closely linked with employee's productivity. Therefore, it cannot be ignored.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
