The roof isn't made slanted to let solar energy enter--it's made transparent for that reason--though the light will refract less the more normal the angle of incidence. They are typically slanted for the same reason any other structure is--to better shed rain and snow. A cubic greenhouse would heat up just fine.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
