Is it appropriate to ask for raises/promotions in all professions?

I have heard that in an interview you are not suppose to mention anybody else but yourself. That it is unprofessional. You have to set guidelines on what you discuss.

Some employers are not looking for family types and some are. Resarch the employer first.

..that's a pretty general question, and very subject to circumstance. For instance, a friend of mine was going on a bit about his job the other day. He's been at his company for over 5 years, and hasn't received a raise in 3.However....the want ads contain no competitors that are hiring, he still makes 40 hours a week, and his employer pays EVERY dime of his health insurance, including family.So my buddy keeps his mouth shut and goes to work.

However, if you are experiencing what you feel is an unfair wait for your raise or promotion, and all other things being equal, there's absolutely nothing ethically wrong for standing up for yourself. Who else will?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
