It depends on the child, of course, but over the years I found that the best-prepared and able students had been home-schooled: they had read more, and were genuinely interested.
My daughter was homeschooled up through 4rd grade, then went to a very small public school through 8th grade. She went 1 semester in high school and then went straight to a community college. She is now 17 and is a sophomore at a University.
She will graduate from college at age 19 with a degree in psychology. However my over three kids who were homeschooled on and off, have not done as well. One son made it through his sophomore year at the university before leaving.
I think it really depends on the child and how motivated they are.
Ummm well, some of the most famous people in history were "homeschooled" and it also depends on the person... but really homeschoolers have no less of an advantage then public schoolers... unless their parents lock them in a closet and never let them out... umm and I believe that's called abuse not homeschooling. ;)Homeschoolers:Agatha ChristieThomas EdisonMozartThomas JeffersonI can name more, but I think I've made my point. :).
Probably the most difficult part of homeschooling for me was accepting that my home would no longer look like the homes in all the magazines. Maintaining that standard is like trying to rake leaves in a tornado! Your meals will not always be healthy, your errands will not always be run, your bills may be late, and your bathrooms may not always sparkle.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
