ABSOLUTELY NOT! It is an affront to the USA and to its people. 620,000 people died for no good reason during the Civil War from 1861-1865 and it was the Confederacy that caused it and LOST IT!
The United States of America fought side-by-side to defeat the British for their independence and just a few decades later, they slaughter each other for reasons that are beyond comprehension. No Confederacy - 620,000 lives saved! The Confederacy was WRONG then and any comprehension otherwise today is JUST as wrong!
I don't know if "ethical" is the right test...but it IS dick-ish. How many times are the words "slavery" or "slaveholding" used in South Carolina's secession declaration? "Confederate States of America - Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union" http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
