Is it illegal if a swimmer in a relay swims twice?

It's against the rules to swim more than once on a single relay team -- or swim on two different relay teams in the same event. Your coach should have known better, and should have scratched the relay when the other girl didn't show up in time. Failing that, he should have pointed this out to the officials Your relay should have been disqualified, but that's the all Next time (if there *is* a next time), tell the timer for your lane, or tell a stroke judge, starter, or referee.

If they were doing their jobs, they would have noticed (but things can get a little crazy during relays). They are *assuming* that people are following the rules, and swimming twice is such an obvious infraction is the only reason they would have missed it.

It is illegal (if you call breaking a rule illegal) in swimming rules for a swimmer to swim twice. The relay would/should have been disqualified. Here, from Page 21 of the USA Swimming Rule book, are the rules that apply to your question: Rule 101.7 RELAYS .1 Freestyle Relay — Four swimmers on each team, each to swim one-fourth of the prescribed distance using any desired stroke(s).

Freestyle finish rules apply. .2 Medley Relay — Four swimmers on each team, each to swim one-fourth of the prescribed distance in the following order: first, backstroke; second, breaststroke; third, butterfly; and fourth, freestyle. Rules pertaining to each stroke used shall govern where applicable.At the end of each leg, the finish rule for each stroke applies in each case.

.3 Rules Pertaining to Relay Races A. No swimmer shall swim more than one leg in any relay event. Therefore, if one swimmer swims twice it is not, according to the rules, a relay and it does not count.

There is no statement about being suspended so that does not happen.

I don't think their is any U.S.law prohibiting this. Then again this is America their are some weird laws out their.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
