This is a good question, in my opinion....... You might have to first specifically define what ’taboo’ actually is. Different people have different perceptions of what might or might not be appropriate for Askville. Even if you don’t violate Askville’s terms of service in a question or answer, certain people are still going to be opinionated on what material they think is good or bad here.In essence, it may not be ’wrong’ at all to ask or answer what I have explained above.

It might come down to exactly how you formulate your question or answer in an effort to make it more acceptable or receptive to the Askville community. Part of this juggling act would include not compromising your thoughts, ideas, or writing style in the process. It’s not always easy trying to do this because I’ve had times here on Askville where I want to speak my mind about something specific without being politically correct or nice in the process and knowing that what I’m about to compose is going to be pushing the boundaries of what is allowed on this site. Sometimes I’ve had to get really creative in my responses and at other times, I’ve declined to answer some things at all if I think I can’t have the freedom to compose exactly what I want and how I want, irregardless of rules.

No. One person had an asinine question about whether the "White House" would now be the "black house" and I, with others, roundly condemned him for being a doofus. The wrong isn't in answering a doofus question but whether one gives a doofus answer."Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit" (Proverbs 26:4-5).

Understimating things Never underestimate the power and far reaching effects of ignorance and sanctimony. Remember also that most of us do not want anything akin to an honest answer. Who would want the truth when all it does is call into question out closely held misconceptions?.

1 It is far worse to ask it; in an answer, you don't have to be equally obscene or whatever, and therefore won't get reported for "abuse". Do you have a particular "taboo" Question regarding Felix the Cat in mind? This user has been banned from Askville.

2 Asking is a no-no - you can get your question pulled and more if it is a frequent occurrence. In fact, more than one person has been banned for repeatedly asking "taboo" questions. Answering depends on how you answer - in the same vein as the question is not a good idea as again you can be penalized for abuse.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
