Is it possible for a 1st world country to become a 3rd world country?

I hear people say that the United States is becoming a 3rd world country. Are they really serious about that or is that just nonsense? What would have to happen for it to be a reality?

Before WW2, Argentina was the 5th richest country in the world...Due to corruption, pluracracy, crushing debt, inflation, afterward became a 3rd world country..Before WW1, England was the richest country in the world, with a thriving middle class.. After the war, crushing debt, and economic stagnation caused the rich to feed off the middle class.. Since WW1, England has slowly spiraled downward, to where it may as well be 3rd world... But, they were thrown a little Socialism, to keep them from rioting..Keeps a lid on things..Don't think it's not happening here.... The global pie is shrinking rapidly, so our middle class is being squeezed, and obviously by the way they vote/ are manipulated--powerless to stop it...

Sure it can happen. But you can always have people who are pessimistic. We ought to go by the numbers.

We have so many pregnancies that are not planned. Few people know how to be good parents. Few learn alot to help themselves in life.

If the Middle class is lost...it would be rich/poor. Celiac causes most of the health issues in the country and doctors are not trained in it and few people get help since tests may not work to diagnose it...Sick people are passive. Celiac is American's downfall.

I think the rich would like to be in control.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
