Well, it is important to understand that the media often exaggerates or wrongly reports the results of scientific studies. If you really want to know, it is best to read whatever essay or article was published in a scientific journal. Also, it is important to examine how good the experiment/study was.
If it had lots of issues like small sample size, and not easily repeatable, then you should take the results with a grain of salt.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
