The easiest solution will be to check out rvm . It lets you have multiple Ruby environments (each with their own set of gems) installed in parallel, which makes it easy to "start fresh" and built the environment from the ground up.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
