No . If we start growing trees now then its not too late.

Noop baby....let it be what is happening its not the subject matter of mine.

We can't really stop global warming at this point we can only slow it down giving us more time to adapt to the changes in climate (and giving the natural world more time as well). Even if we stopped emitting CO2 today we have still added far more into the atmosphere than should be naturally and CO2 stays in the atmosphere for more than a century. We could invest in carbon capture technology to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere but that is a long time away."Does global warming exist?

I thought they said it doesn't now and it's now called climate change because a few scientists pointed out that it's not actually getting warmer. Then when they pointed out that the world is on a hot/cold cycle it was then changed to 'extreme weather'..... " Global climate change is the correct scientific term for what is happening. Global warming is also true as it refers to the increase in global average temperatures over a time period.

The problem with the term global warming is too many people focus on the warming and not enough on the global. Statements like "I got 6 feet of global warming in my drive way this winter" are all too common. The thing about global warming is the word global and global warming does not mean it is hotter everywhere all the time all year round.

It means the average temperature of the globe is warming but this could lead to an increase in extreme weather events.

Yep... you may as well surrender to the idea of longer growing seasons, more beach time, and less work to heat your home. Oh.... but people have nothing to do with the temperature of the earth... so just be ready to adapt to whatever happens.

To goto Green Land global warming must be stopped as for green land is surrounded by ocean on all sides. All land is one and the same and global warming makes it different.

We have only little time to stop Global warming So the preventive measures should be implemented as soon as possible.

Read about Chicken Little. That will tell you about your are being scared. Global warming is a hoax and the proponents have admitted it in several ways.1.

They have changed the name from Ice Age (caused by CO2), Global Warming (Caused by CO2) and now Global Warming (caused by CO2). If they had science on there side they wouldn't have to change the name. They could rely on facts.2.

They admit there predictions haven't come true. Manhattan was supposed to be under water by 1999. A scientist from Colorado just gave up.

After 20 years of predicting none of the predictions came true. You see, in true science you can predict the future by past observances. Such as when the temperature gets below 28 degrees for a certain time water will freeze.

If you add salt the temperature is lower to freezing point. True science can predict accurately. Pseudoscience cannot.

And many others. What is their record of predictions?3. They admit they cooked the books on temperature recording and facts at Penn St., for example, to promote the hockey stick.4.

They admit there is no Global Warming when they take your money and return nothing. This is the surfacebut if you want to fall for it well P.T. Barnum said "there is a sucker born every minute".

Not really... but too early to stop trying.

Well, its better late than never! Even today we can initiate steps to curb global challenges like climate change and global warming. The best way to start is by switching to eco-friendly habits like reducing energy consumption, wasting of water etc.Even corporates are adopting steps to reduce their CO2 emission.

One such company is Siemens, the company has acknowledged the importance of climate change as one of the most important challenges facing humanity today. It has strong internal commitments to reduce its own carbon footprint. It has also made a goal to improve energy efficiency and reduce production-related CO2 emissions relative to its revenues by 20 percent by end of 2011 (compared to 2006).

We are unlikely to completely stop global warming, we'd have to change too much, too fast. But: 1. We can definitely slow down global warming, if we make an effort.

I'm sure you've heard all the usual suggestions (decrease consumption, buy local, make energy-efficient choices, and so on), and there's lots more that can be done on a corporate, government, or otherwise collective level (like investing in non-fossil energy). And slowing it down may well be enough to negate most of the negative consequences, since a good part of the problem is that the *rate* of change is exceeding the rate at which we, and the rest of the planet, can adapt to it. Neither warm nor cold is inherently bad, it's all a matter of what we and other life forms are adapted to.2.

Even if we do *nothing*, we're unlikely to be "done for". If you live in a temperate climate (most of North America and Europe, New Zealand, and several other places), you're likely to see very little direct harm from global warming. Food prices may go up, energy prices may go up, but you're not going to starve, or even necessarily see your quality of life go down significantly.

You may even, personally, be a bit better off, because crops may grow better in temperate climates with fewer winter freezes. It's the people in tropical or subtropical areas, and the people living in areas likely to be damaged by any significant rise in sea levels, that are going to be fairly screwed... edit: just saw where you asked the question from. Sorry, you may be among the "fairly screwed"... but, even then, "fairly screwed" is not the same as "certain doom".

And in several ways India is probably a lot better off than, say, Africa... a better tech and income base means more "cushion" to develop adaptations to changing climate conditions.

You don't need to be scared. However, global warming that has already happened can not be reversed. We can only work towards improving our environment now and taking concrete steps.

" he says. "Some say irreversible consequences are 30 years away. Thirty years.

That won't affect me. " He steps off the tracks -- just in time. But behind him is a little girl, left in front of the roaring train.

The screen goes black. A message appears: "There's still time." It's just an ad, part of a campaign from the advocacy group Environmental Defense, which hopes to convince Americans they can do something about global warming, that there's still time.

No it is not if we think about it but we need to think very fast and quick.

Global warming or cooling can never be stopped. Through carbon dating, it has been proven that over millions of years the Earth's temperature has warmed and cooled many times. It is a natural occurrence that we cannot fully understand or predict.

There are so many different factors that can cause this, and yes man polluting does have an effect. This was going on before man had even evolved so yes it is too late. It will not be the end of the world if the temperature rises though, life will go on.In some areas it will actually get cooler, but some places will get warmer and suffer severe drought.

If all the antarctic ice melted the water level would rise about 200 feet, if all the Greenland ice melted as well add another 20. So even if all the ice melted we are still not looking at an end to life on Earth scenario. It would also take a very drastic temperature change for all of it to melt. It will not happen in our lifetime.

It is believed that the more ice that melts the warmer it will get because there will be more blue instead of white on the Earth. White reflects light and blue absorbs it. So the more ice,the more light reflecting, the more blue the more light and heat being absorbed rather than reflected.

In another 75 years or so they say the Maldives could be completely submerged. Here is a link if you are wondering what the Maldives are en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maldives.

Please don't be scared. Answers given to your question suggest that there is lot of confusion whether it is man made or natural process. But one thing is certain that since lakhs of years this planet has seen sea changes in weather but life never cease to exist; only its form changes. As to human contribution to this, we are looking at it at macro level.

If we really want to eliminate our share to this problem then we need to examine this problem at micro level and not in macro level which we are doing till date. If we; at personal level, are prepared to sacrifice our comforts then forget any solution to this probelm. We need to substatially reduce our dependence of all those means which are destroying natural resources e.g. We must realise that use of fossil fuel, power etc. Recklessly will certainly result to our destruction.

Unless we realise it before it is too late, no miracle can save us.

Yes, but it's not too late to slow it down.

Don't worry. :) its not late... Its a hard task to control it... Everything may go out of control around 150yrs from now so be happy. :) and try protecting our world... Its self protection which starts..

I thought they said it doesn't now and it's now called climate change because a few scientists pointed out that it's not actually getting warmer. Then when they pointed out that the world is on a hot/cold cycle it was then changed to 'extreme weather'..... Who knows.

No, if we try , then we stop global warming.

Trying to stop global warming is like trying to stop the ocean tides or the earths gravitational force. Search the web and look at ANY chart that shows global temperatures, total global ice or even global co2 levels over a period longer than 10,000 years and you will find that the earth has ALWAYS warmed and cooled. Sometimes it warms or cools at a much faster pace than the changes over the past 20-100 years.

Sometimes the change is slower. But the fact is that the only constant on this globe is change. According the the Goddard Institute (look it up), we are now coming out of a mini ice-age.

The globe is simply cycling from colder to warmer. This is what we who have looked at the long-term evidence call normal global fluctuations. Get a hold of the book "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton for a wonderful adventure into the global warming world. It is also a great book by a talented story teller.

He has supplied multiple pages of scientific references for you to evaluate.

It is too late to stop human-caused climate change. It has already started and is going to continue almost no matter what. Realistically, human beings are not going to be "done for" as a species even in the worst case scenarios.

Human civilization as we've known it for the past few thousand years may take some hits. The global economy will almost surely suffer noticeably, though probably not fatally. It is NOT too late to stop tolerating incessant fossil-fuel-company-spawned lies about basic science.

You can see many stupid copy-cat examples all over this website. Some links below explain where this mountain of anti-science crap came from. It is NOT too late to take sensible steps to slow down and reduce the negative consequences of human-caused climate change.

Such as ending boneheaded taxpayer subsidies and corporate welfare to oil and coal companies. U.S. National Academy of Sciences, 2010: books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record… “Climate change is occurring, is caused largely by human activities, and poses significant risks for a broad range of human and natural systems. ” nationalacademies.org/morenews/20… “Choices made now about carbon dioxide emissions reductions will affect climate change impacts experienced not just over the next few decades but also in coming centuries and millennia…Because CO2 in the atmosphere is long lived, it can effectively lock the Earth and future generations into a range of impacts, some of which could become very severe.”

The temperature has gone down since 1998 so I wouldn't worry about it.

No,it is not too late to stop global warming. The thing is awaring the people about it and doing action. Now and then we all should start thinking seriously .

By preserve the greenery around us,recycling the product,Proper use of water and light. And most importantly,Family planning which control the population rate .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
