You are now considered and adult. She is not. She is only 16.

And that could create major problems for you. People could get on your case and say that having sex with her is statutory rape. But it's not hard to see that you really respect this girl and that sex is not what you have in mind about this.

But if her parents' are okay with you dating their daughter then go for it. I think it's up to the parent's to decide if it's okay for their daughter to get involved with you. Talk to the girl and ask her if she allowed to date.

You aren't doing anything wrong, it's not just about sex (which wouldn't be illegal for you two, by the way, since you're both in the same age group).
