I have wondered this too. I think he is a conservative Democrat. I don't think he has ever said what he is.
Bill Mahr, however, is a self declared Democrat.
Yeah, DanZee he says that a lot, but I don't believe him.
Really, Max. I guess I really misunderstood one of Bill's jokes in the first show of the season! Thanks for the correction!
"Bill Mahr, however, is a self declared Democrat. "Nope. He used to identify himself as a libertarian but by today's standards he isn't comfortable with that anymore.
Neither would I be. Bill Maher is an Independent. "A Republican will piss all over you.
A Democrat will give you an umbrella... and THEN piss all over you. " Bill MaherJon Stewart is a progressive but he has always denied being linked to any party and has complained about both. I'd be inclined to think he's an Independent as well.
I am enjoying the responses. Thank you! Nterlandcyn 14 months ago .
I think Jon Stewart is extraordinarily bright. I get a little tired of his show but then I'm sorry I missed some of them. He's best when he's talking off comedy central.
I've seen Bill Maher in person on stage - they were filming an HBO special - and I never laughed so hard in my life. But both take hits at both parties. That's what makes them so good.
Maher can sometimes be a tad caustic and I don't agree with everything he says but we're pretty on target about most issues. Jon Stewart is someone I'd really like to see on stage, independently. I think his talent and intellect would really stand out.
I've seen Lewis Black on stage and, at least at this point in time, he's careful. He's more mainstream comedy than Maher who is really a political pundit. I love the fact that his guests can be a whole panel of republicans or a mixed panel of both parties or represent just about any facet of the political divide.
Unlike Fox News, he goes out of his way to be courteous to even the most conservative guests while never pandering to their cause. That's a big difference.
He's a Joker! Seriously, I think I heard an interview with him where he said he doesn't vote.
I would be very disappointed in him if he doesn't vote. Even if you make fun of people from both parties, it is still a good idea to take a stand! Nterlandcyn 14 months ago .
OK. I take that back. I found this story that he voted for Obama in 2008:---------(CNN) – Count Jon Stewart among the legion of frustrated supporters of President Obama.
Appearing on Fox News' The Bill O'Reilly show Wednesday, the liberal comedian said he thought Obama would do a better job when he voted for him in the 2008 presidential election. "I think people feel a disappointment in that there was a sense that Jesus will walk on water and now you are looking at it like, 'Oh look at that, he's just treading water' … I thought he'd do a better job," said Stewart. Stewart, who maintains he ultimately does not regret his vote for Obama, said he is "saddened" the president hasn't done more to change the structure of Washington."I thought we were in such a place in 2008, much like the Tea Party feels now, that the country … needed a more drastic reconstruction – I have been saddened to see that someone who ran on the idea that you can't expect to get different results with the same people and the same system has kept in place so much of the same system and same people," he said.

Of course. I have heard that he doesn't even vote, so I was wondering if he was registered with either party. Nterlandcyn 14 months ago .
Just curious. " "If Jesus were to vote would he vote democrat or republican? " "If you are a Democrat which republican candidate would you vote for if you had to vote republican?" "Do you think Jon Stewart would ever run for any public office?
" "What democrat and republican will most likely run against each other in the 2008 Presidential election?
