It's all about acts who are marketable. Justin Bieber is popular because of his teenybopper looks, which attracts tons of adoring fans. Lady Gaga is popular well because she's an obnoxious, attention- whore.
And sadly people who are doing disgusting things for shock value like eating kangaroo testicles are getting more attention than musicians with actual raw talent. That's what pop culture's all about these days. I agree when you write that the music today is easy to forget.
If I listen to a song from today, it seems like there's something missing, like it has lost its spark. I think the music industry started becoming commercialised after 9/11, that's when I noticed when music started to sound ****. I blame nightclubs as another reason why people listen to watered down music.
No singers or entertainers today are going to have a legacy like Bob Dylan or Paul McCartney. Those two musicians are selling out concerts.
OK, speaking from the perspective of time (i've been here longer than most of you!) the world today is populated by apathetic people and organizations. This applies to every day people as well as "megastars". The choice is and has always been in your hands.
Don't buy their "products". Don't contribute to the consumption of the morass of bland indefference. You cannot and must not sit on your DUFF and hope it will change-it will most definately NOT!
Music is no different than Wallyworld,McD's,we all go there because its EASY. Make the change people, before we all are submerged in the colorless world of the global( chinese?) doctrin. PS Have you seen any RUSH concerts lately?
Peace Bro.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
