Is process improvement common sense or is it statistical analysis of defects, delays, and costs?

Process improvement really depends on the process. Not everything can be statistically analyzed but those things which can be, typically will benefit from that portion of the improvement review. A good Quality Management Plan will encourage process improvement on a real time basis not waiting for negative trends to indicate the need for it.

The human side of the process will often identify those things which may be causing delays, increasing cost, decreasing performance. Listening to the people in the workforce is an important part of process improvement, they will notice new issues far faster than the manager who is not directly working with the task performed.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
