Yes. Right now the least expensive would be a pre-86 automatic rifle at around 6600 dollars, plus the 200 dollar transfer tax, plus 9 months of waiting for the ATF to approve the transfer before you can even take possession of it. It is not legal in all states.

It is legal in mine. The legal hoops to jump through in order to own one is rather inconvenient, however, and time-consuming, especially in this political climate. But yes, it is theoretically possible.
