Is riviera Maya in Cancun?

Riviera Maya is an "area" and is the stretch of beach south of Cancun all the way down to Tulum along the Yucatan Peninsula. In order to get to Riviera Maya you fly into Cancun airport. There are many transfer companies that then bus or taxi you down to your hotel in Riviera Maya.It is a very long stretch of area with multiple towns along it, including Playa del Carmen, Playa, Puerto Morelas and Tulum.

The hotels in the Riviera Maya tend to be under 5 stories high and some are spread out along acres, while others are small and intimate. Most resorts in Riviera Maya are All-Inclusive because there aren't many restaurants except for in the towns. Cancun has more high rise hotels and more nightlife.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
