Is the Australian accent generally closer to the English accent or American?

No one on the planet speaks English like the English themselves they nailed it.

Most of my family is from New Zealand. I know you didn't mention them but we all aspire to English accent. That's just how it is.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
