He is exactly what they want in a president. He is conservative, authoritarian, willing to imprison political dissidents and journalists and outlaw homosexuality.
I don't think any republicans "like" Putin. I do think many republicans respect him, but you don't have to like something to respect it. Respect isn't synonymous with admiration.
I respect Putin like I respect anything dangerous. I recognize the threat he could pose to our national security, and I think we should consider that when dealing with him. It's no different than handling explosives or a venomous snake, it's wise to recognize the potential threat and handle them accordingly if you want to avoid being killed by them.
Democrats seem to minimize the threat Russia and Putin pose to our way of life, acting like they are harmless and stupid. I for one think that's a bad call. We need to first recognize the threat before we can deal with it, and Democrats don't seem willing to do that.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
