Utkarsh, results have yet to be verified and the experiment must be replicated to see if they can reproduce these results again if they are true. Some scientists believed there may have been a calculation error in the original experiment. After all, they are talking about nanoseconds here.
That is a second sliced into 1 billion pieces and that kind of measurement is pretty small so the chances of an error are pretty high.
As melpor says the experiment has to be repeated not just once, but a couple of times again. Care has to be taken to ensure that the results are error free. Even though its just nano seconds - it may seem like nothing.
But if this is true the universe as you know it will no longer exists. You'll know nothing about the actual universe. So we could hope for it to be true and at the same time wonder if it's really possible.
Just like the other two mentioned, the experiment has to be repeated numerous times before it can be verified. Even if it is verified, it may not mean that the particles are traveling faster than light. They could be taking a 'shortcut' such as a wormhole or another dimension.
If it turns out that they are actually traveling faster than light, then answer me this. Is Isaac Newton wrong in his theories? The reason I ask is, although Isaac Newton's theories are correct in some sense, they lose integrity when dealing with objects in Einstein's realm. So, although Newton was wrong in some aspects, he was right in others.
What I am saying is that Einstein wasn't wrong, neither was Newton. Newton was just not entirely correct and if it turns out that neutrino's travel faster than light, the same could be said for Einstein and his theories.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
