Is there a formula available to find the day of the month for any historic date in time?

If you know what today is, as day of week, you just count off the days, wrapping around from sunday to monday, wrapping around from 28, 29, 30, or 31 days per month, wrapping the year at dec 31, and voila, you’re there. The trickiest part is getting the length of Feb right.It’s roughly every fourth year, but not every 100’th, except for every 400’th, which is.

Or some rule like that. Well, oops, that only works for FUTURE dates. For past dates, there are complications.

You see there have been "adjustments" made several times since the old calendar was getting out of sync with the seasons. You can look it up in Wikipedia, but roughly there were 10 days dropped in 1582 in some counties, 11 days in 1752 in others.So any dates in the past before 1752 are kinda ambiguous. For instance the birth date of Columbus could be expressed in several ways, depending whether you mean what the day was called when he was born, or you mean what day that falls on using today's calendar.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
