You need the Geocoder class for that. See the reference, it's quite easy to use: developer.android.com/reference/android/... . The process you're mentioning is called reverse geocoding.

I think it's quite accurate (especially if only the city name is needed), I've used it in some of my projects.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
