I'm not a fan of remakes. The problem I see is that the movies that get remade were great to begin with and then someone comes along and says - well I'm bigger, better and faster and I can remake this. The remakes are done to capitalize on name recognition (the stars in the movie as well as the original movie itself).
It's sort of a no brainer that people would be interested in a remake. Some are good some aren't. But I think it's insulting to a famous director to remake a classic just to give it modern special effects.
The entire reason that a movie is a classic is because it should transcend time. It's rare that a crappy old movie gets remade.
One of the old movie that I would like to see remade is the 2001:A Space Odyssey. One of the most fascinating and futuristic science fiction movie during it's period. I want the children see the movie in it's new light.
No I think they should leave the old movies alone as they can never get the shadowing right as they did in the old black and white films. This is what made tchcock such a great Director and why colorazation always stinks. The new ones are never as good as the old ones even with the new technology.
There’s so much cool stuff in this movie – I just need a presentation refresh. What about you? What’s a movie you’d like to see remade (assuming they get it right)?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
