Is there any archaeological evidence that the Israelites really conquered Ai as related in Book of Joshua 8 v 1to29?

There is no evidence that the Israelites conquered Ai. In fact, Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman ( The Bible Unearthed ) say that Jericho, Ai, Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth and Kiriath-jearim did not even exist at the time the conquest was supposed to happen Ze'ev Herzog says that, because of the total lack of evidence, some have claimed that the original story must have referred to the conquest of nearby Beit El and was transferred to Ai by later redactors. But even if true, this hypothesis would not explain the non-existence of some other cities: Jericho, Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth and Kiriath-jearim.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
