Skepticism ... in my Concept, is a Vocation ... sort of a reverse questioning method, due, ego problems ... not a proper approach, to any understanding of the Reality. Everyone, born, has to die, upon the completion of the Tenure ... So you cannot apply the technique in this case ... But be patient, you will certainly find out ... at the end of your Tenure ... when you will rise with the rest of others.
I think there is, perhaps, too much, reliance on science ( I'm a poet and I know it, hope I don't blow it, Bob Dylan c1963) religion and science really are two separate entities. The religions of the Indian subcontinent and the far-east have concepts of rebirth; religions rooted in the middle-east don't, there is no scientific evidence for either, and we shouldn't look for it as it tends to generate a mountain of pseudo-science, mumbo-jumbo rubbish. The concept of rebirth, more correctly, karma and rebirth, western science: cause and effect, is about becoming, actions cause other actions, a live lived and died causes other life... Where the west got the idea of reincarnation from, I don't know, perhaps it's this desperate fear of death for the individual, so he clings on to this idea of life after death?
Read the work of Brian Weiss, Ph.D. Or see some of Sylvia Brownes seminars. If you need personal evidence, you can go to a past life regression therapist or there are books and CDs that can guide you through the regression yourself.
Most skeptics won't be convinced by other peoples experiences, so why not try it for yourself, if you are really interested.
There id truly life after death as against MickS statement. There is no difference between religion and science as you think. It is just our human form of expression that has created that bridge so we could not understand or misrepresent some concepts of life, birth, death and reincarnation.
See, even the word reincarnation is not the proper word for a return of a spirit in this world. I call it ressurrection. There are thought forms parading all over space.
Even around us. Good and evil thoughts are always moving around and are looking for a medium to express themselves. I know you will never believe that you are part of these thought forms.
Think about it, when you say that you are thinking, you are not really the one doing the thinking but the thought forms came to you and you just picked it up and meddle about it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
