Yes there is a way, legally Kindle books can be shared between Kindles, Kindle for PC/Mac, or iphones that are registered to the same Amazon account. Meaning: you can register both Kindles to ONE account, either yours or your mom's, then every book you or your mom purchases can be downloaded into both Kindles. If there is no financial issue then this should work for you.
You can see the items in your Kindle library under Archived Items on both Kindles, or in the Amazon. Com websit you can send downloads to your registered Kindles from the "Your Orders" section of the Manage Your Kindle page. For newspapers and magazines I have not tried but at least I think you can at least TRANSFER.
