The first things that came to my mind were Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and, of course, the beaches (I happen to love the beach even in the cold/fog). Have fun!
Go to Big Sur! It's a bit of a drive (45 mins), but you're close enough. Have a sunset dinner at Nepenthe.
Stay at Deetjen's. Check out the hot springs at Esalen (you'll have to look into that a little bit). Of course, depends on how much time you have and requires a car but don't pass up if you can swing it.
Carmel works too if you don't want to head further south to Big Sur. Quickly scanned this article but looks on target.
The loop through pebble beach isn't bad. There's also some decent food to be had there.
Go the hot sauce shop just round the corner from the aquarium. You can't miss it. Some awesome hot sauce's and the lady that owns the place is so funny.
You can try everything before you buy.
There are some local shopping areas and a few nice inns for a weekend getaway. There are also a few other museums and some great eateries too.
As you will be traveling in a car I recommend two side trips: Carmel and 17-mile drive. The coast line is spectacular along this portion of the California coast and can be enjoyed in the likely inclement weather as can time spent walking around Carmel. Carmel is loaded with art galleries and excellent places to eat.
Swing by Tillie Gorts for a slice of moist and delicious vegan orange cake. tilliegortscafe.com I've only been to Monterey once for a day and I went to the aquarium, checked out some shops, bought some saltwater taffy and ate a vegan sandwich and some cake at the aforementioned cafe. Not a bad afternoon.
Good ideas about that places when you look here in these links epinions.com/review/trvl-Family_Travel-Z... apug.org/forums/forum49/23266-carmel-tra... hostelz.com/hostel/2481-HI---Monterey-Ho... Student life A residence hall in the Quad portion of the campus. The fog for which Marina is famous can cover the entire campus. Ocean view from a North Quad Suite during sunset.
Roughly two thirds of CSUMB students live on campus. Residence halls are located close to all campus facilities, offering single student suites, family apartments living on the east side of the campus. All communities are located conveniently close to campus.
Students can walk, drive or take the campus shuttle to classes and activities. Students also enjoy going into nearby downtown Monterey which is a popular tourist destination as it is home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and Old Fisherman's Wharf. Students also enjoy nearby Santa Cruz where on weekends, students frequent bars and dance clubs.
Other popular spots near CSUMB are Carmel-by-the-Sea ,17 mile scenic drive, World famous Pebble Beach golf resort, and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSUMB vacation guides for california sources: http://www.thenewparentsguide.com/vacations-california.htm HOTELS AND TOURIST ATTRACTION IN SAN FRANCISCO http://www.goldengatebi.com/html/tourist-attractions-san-francisco.asp.
Well the beach will be freezing so I don't recommend that lol. Carmel is a really nice place. There are some really nice restaurants along the streets (Beni Hana!).
Lots of walking and Pebble Beach is a must!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
