Is there proof that ISIS is coming to our country through Syrian refugees, or are we acting out of fear of what might be?

My thoughts can be summed up by a part of the poem called "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus which is engraved on the Statue of Liberty in the heart of New York City today: "Give me your tired, your poor Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" That's the reason why they want to come here.

They want to come to a country where we embrace them in open arms without discrimation to who they are and giving them an opportunity that would provide them to lead a meaningful life. They want to come here in order to seek a better opportunity and to escape the demons behind them. That's what makes America a great country.

After all, our country was built by immigrants (and their offsprings) from all over the world, be it Chinese, Germans, Irish, British, Italians, Spanish, Mexicans, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipinos, Kuwaitis, Iraqis, Afganis, and others. This in turn and the immigrants from all over the world morped our country into the greatest multicultural/melting pot nation in the world and also the best military, economic, social, and political nation the world has ever seen today. The Syrian people are fleeing in their country because their country was torn apart from the war that killed tens of thousands and in addition, the ISIS, a major terrorist player in the world, would force these people to fight for them or be killed.

They have no where else to go and need a safe place to live. They may hate our country, but once they adjust to it, they would be happy to settle in a country they called home. I'm sure your ancestors feel the same way when they came to this great country as well.

They don't want to DIE. No, most immigrants don't hate their adopted country, moron. BUT, if the rest of the hate-mongering, ignorant, sub-human morons like YOU spew hate at them all the time, they might hate the US.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
