Yes, the difference in the products really comes down to where a company spends its money. A professional salon product has the money spent on the actual ingredients that go in their product. Where a drug store or super market brand puts their money into the advertising of their product.

It is up the salon and stylist to tell their clients about the product. The result is that drug store brands are made with inferior quality ingredients that are not good for your hair. Salon products being made with higher-grade ingredients are better for your hair.
