It can be adjusted in iTunes I presume you want iTunes to play tracks with an equal volume, because some albums are louder than others. This can be adjusted in iTunes. First, take a quick listen to various songs on various albums in your collection to see which particular albums are louder/softer than most others.

Then it's a matter of selecting those albums and increasing/reducing their volume in comparison to the others. For example, while viewing the album cover, right-click on it and select "Get Info". In the dialog box that follows select the "Options" tab.

Then just slide the Volume Adjustment up/down a little. This will increase/reduce the playback volume of the entire album. Click OK and take a listen again.

Unless an "album" is a compilation you've made, drawn from a number of sources, it's probably best to adjust entire albums rather than individual tracks for two reasons.
