Everybody else is right, people are changing their profile pictures to cartoon characters from their childhood to raise awareness for child abuse. HOWEVER, it is also "Pokemon Profile Pic December," were you change your profile picture to your favorite pokemon for the month. As for knowing when this stuff happens, you can either 1) Be invited to the event (although you don't have to be invited to be a part of it.) 2) Look up the even yourself 3) Be told about it (that's how I found out about the cartoon character thing) 4) Ask people what the hell is going on.

There's really no reliable way to find this stuff out, if you want to be a part of stuff, just go with the flow and do it when it comes to you. Most of the time, I only find stuff out through my friends, and it's usually never too late to join in.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
