If this were happening to me, the first thing I would do is uninstall and reinstall iTunes. Then, if you are able to, I would try doing a software restore on the iPod (this might not work, if it's still crashing). Third, I would try syncing with another computer.
If it doesn't crash that computer, it seems like it would be a software issue on your computer that you need to address. If it does crash the computer, it's a problem with the iPod. If it crashes everything with no help after reinstalling iTunes, bring it to your nearest Apple Store and see if they can do anything with it.
If all else fails, if it's under warranty you can just swap it for a new one.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
