Javascript / jquery - how to create a proper modal page overlay?

I would suggest taking a look at the jQuery UI Dialog.

I would suggest taking a look at the jQuery UI Dialog. Here's a link to download the jQuery UI library: jqueryui.com/download Here's an article that explains how to make the dialog modal: geekswithblogs.net/liammclennan/archive/... Content of div EDIT Have you tried using window. AvailHeight instead of window.

InnerHeight?

Thanks - I'll have a look at JQuery UI - this example though is a dialog of a fixed height, and for me that is a dynamic value - it will need to change depending on the mobile device viewing the site, so that's the main issue I'm struggling with – mheavers Oct 12 at 17:43 You shouldn't have a problem changing the height to suit your purpose. – James Johnson Oct 12 at 17:45 Well - the dialog has a lot of markup and logic tied to it - it's not something I want to create dynamically. I also don't want to include the jquery ui library if I don't have to – mheavers Oct 12 at 18:01 You don't have to use it.

You were already using jQuery, so it seemed like it might be a good fit. Why do you think you'd have to create it dynamically? – James Johnson Oct 12 at 18:06 Yeah - looks like I don't need to create it dynamically, but I'd much rather figure this out without having to incorporate jquery ui - it will involve me reconfiguring a lot of my code, and I still will have the height issue - which is the only problem I'm really trying to solve.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
