Judeo Christians: David: Prophet or no prophet?

I beg to differ on what Shirley is stating The bible says: (Galatians 1:6-9) I marvel that you are being so quickly removed from the One who called you with Christ’s undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news. But it is not another; only there are certain ones who are causing you trouble and wanting to pervert the good news about the Christ. However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond what we declared to you as good news, let him be accursed.

As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to you as good news something beyond what you accepted, let him be accursed. Notice the point...it says anything beyond what we have been declared in the Bible, let him be accursed. I have heard people come up with all sorts of vision that have nothing to do with anything in the good news declared in the bible and all claim they are from God Don't get me wrong.... I believe in the visions in the bible and am a Christian however I find the words of Christ our king sobering and a word of caution.

(Matthew 7:21-23) “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you, Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.

Sorry Shirley but you stated this came from the bible and it does not. No where in the bible does it state that a person gets abnormal strength, looses consciousness or stops breathing during a vision...not one single scripture! Some visions mentioned are when the person was awake, others when they slept, nothing further to this.

The only place where people had specific reaction was during demon possession (Matt 17:15-18) Nor does it give percentages of what they get right. If it comes from God, it is 100%. I find of great concern anyone claiming to prophesy as you can't tell the difference between those that claim to be doing things in the name of God and are rejected and those who truly are.

For example: If someone told you they had a vision and you were to quite your job and go buy a lottery ticket, then move to an island to enjoy the rest of your life would you believe it? Remember what the bible says about who is the current ruler of this world? (1 John 5:19) We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

(Luke 4:6) and the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it. (John 14:30) I shall not speak much with you anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me Now if Satan has control over the world at this time, should we not be concerned more with the work Jesus left us to do?

(Matthew 28:19, 20) This is what we should focus on, our commission from Jesus which we have complete control over, building up our knowledge by way of the bible and prayer. I hope you find that helpful and I have cited the scriptures for you to look up in your own bible.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
