Kentucky clerk woman chooses jail time instead of issuing marriage licenses to gay people because "God" said so?

They could very well be void since she has not authorized them. The judge accepted that may well be the case and as far as he is concerned he has offered the plaintiffs relief. The only other thing to do is to get them issued by the county judge as he can issue them in the event the clerk is absent.

That way the couples get a valid licence issued from their own county. It depends how much they want to fight this as either the Kentucky legislature changes the procedure when they are back in session next year or she is impeached. Otherwise every gay couple that wants a marriage licence from her office will have to sue her orshe will have to take days off so the county judge can issue them.

I think she still has 3 years left of her term as well so plenty of time for her to keep obstructing. I mean she is not afraid of jail time so what can you do now? Imo it is probably best to let it go and just oust her in the election if the state legislature does not solve it.

Her attorney is an idiot. What if she were out sick one day? Would all licenses issued that day be void because she wasn't there to authorize them?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
