My husband is a pastor and he learned to read Greek and Hebrew in the seminary, and studied from original texts. He said that he believes the King James Version is the closest to the original texts. I have a New Testament that is in the original Greek on one side of the page with the English version on the opposing page and while the Greek syntax, directly translated, is awkward, they are very close, almost word for word.
For me, I want to be as close to the original translation as possible. It is too important to guess at.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
